The Tierra y Ser Association, non-governmental organization was formed as an organization for help and cooperation whose main objectives are to give the knowledge and basic tools for the execution of social projects. Acting in favor of education and the social, physical and moral well-being of families in high-risk, especially focusing on children and seniors. This is achieved through the construction and implementation of basic infrastructure and the generation of jobs, incentivizing the advancement of intellectual development of children and an improved quality of life for the general population in a sustainable and secure way, contributing to the care of the environment with reforestation and bio-garden projects as well as recycling campaigns.
During the execution of the recycling campaigns, we discovered that there are many ways to contribute to caring for our planet, but at the same time we learned that to do so, we would have to help other people through these campaigns. That’s how we know that one plastic top takes 20 years to biodegrade and that they are also used as raw material in the production of buckets, tubs, plastics, and other similar products, which makes this recycled product highly demanded in recycling plants where the products are processed.
For this reason, we decided to have plastic bottle top collection campaigns- namely: the tops of sodas, syrups, toothpaste, oils and others- in schools, institutions and businesses, with the end goal to gather a large number of plastic tops and through the money gained from selling these to the recycling plants, to then be able to acquire wheel chairs, prosthesis, walkers and crutches which we donate to medical care institutions and to people with limited resources in Lima, Ica and Piura who suffer with physical disabilities.
